BRIMFIELD & Little Hereford's Eileen Turner reached the quarter-finals before bowing out of the champion of champions singles at the National Express EWBA Champio-nships at Royal Leaming-ton Spa.
After a first-round walkover, she claimed the scalp of Sue Harriott (Exmouth Madiera), the 2001 English champion. Turner fought back from being 9-0 down after 16 ends to win 21-15.
But in the quarter-finals she went down 21-12 to Rosemary Bailey (Fare-ham). Turner also skipped Brimfield in the triples but they went out in the first round, 17-9 to Cosham.
Ruth Millard's Kingsland trio, including Joyce Bishop and Barbara Bengry, crashed 36-10 to Yeovil, also in the first round.
The Eastnor rink skipped by Val Pedlingham reached the quarter-finals of the fours and were then pipped 21-20 by Egham.
Egham went on to reach the final where they lost 21-20 to Whittlesey Manor.
