PATIENTS needing major abdominal surgery will benefit from new high-tech pain relieving equipment at Hereford's County Hospital thanks to Sun Valley Foods.
The £3,000 donation to the Charles Renton Unit has helped to update its epidural pumps to keep patients, often suffering with cancer, comfortable after extensive surgery with two new infusion pumps.
Acute pain relief clinical nurse specialist, Vanessa Neve said: "We greatly appreciate this generous donation from Sun Valley.
"The new system will not only improve the quality of pain relief for the patients allowing them to rest and move more easily, but also frees up essential nursing time to care for them."
T he new equipment will ensure a continuous infusion of pain-relieving drugs, replacing the old system, which required nurses to frequently change syringes.
