LEOMINSTER Junior School drama enthusiasts chose a very apt play for their end-of-term production.
The audience and cast sweltered in a near-tropical heatwave when the school staged Rainmaker. The new musical, by Jan Stroud, was set in the steamy rainforests of Central America.
The temperature in the school hall soared during the two-day production but the children went on to give excellent performances said producer Lorna Firth.
A cast of more than 150 pupils and staff took part, telling of children in a drought-ridden country who embark on a journey to find The Lord of Rain.
