CONFIDENCE is flowing through the Hereford United camp at present after their midweek victory at Margate moved them up to third place in the Nationwide Conference.
Minutes after the Bulls' 2-0 victory at Hartsdown Park, midfielder Jamie Pitman told reporters they could still win the league.
Pitman remained unphased by leaders Yeovil's 10-point lead and was adamant the Bulls are still in the championship chase.
"I don't think we should drop a point at home and then we've just got to pick up points away from home as well," he said.
"We had a little spell just before Christmas where we didn't pick up many points, but hopefully that's our own spell this season."
One of the keys to Hereford's success this season has been their away form which has seen them win nine times and a 10th could be on the cards at Northwich Victoria today.
They have the second best away record in the league and with another crunch away clash at Yeovil Town at the start of March, there is scope for Hereford to make inroads at the top of the table.
"Potentially, it's one of the biggest games of the season," said Pitman. "Hopefully, we'll still be well up there and if we can sneak a three pointer there then you never know. It could be a massive game and one that we definitely want to win. We're looking to keep the run going and I think we're timing the run just right at the moment, so hopefully we're going to stay up there."
Ex-Torquay United defender Troy Douglin is still training with the Bulls while manager Graham Turner sees new signing Justin Rowe as one for the future.
"He's only 19 but he's got potential and he's come here to get some experience with us," said Turner.
Rowe was signed from Midland Alliance side Grosvenor Park.
