SO Herefordshire Council is relentlessly stopping parking on all roads anywhere near the County Hospital.
Good news for local residents. For hospital employees it presents a major problem. There are nowhere near enough season-ticket parking spaces at the hospital and we are not allowed to use the visitors' car park.
Living more than 15 miles outside the city, it's too far for me to walk or cycle and public transport is woefully inadequate, especially for the majority of us in the health professions who work irregular hours.
The only advice from the hospital is to 'find alternative arrangements'.
So, sorry Hereford, the only alternative I can find is to go and work elsewhere. Maybe they treat their public-sector workforce more sympathetically.
Good luck to the County Hospital with your acute staff shortages. You'll need it.
