BIG names from the Goodwood Festival of Speed could be revving up to race in a Herefordshire village.
Racers in Mansel Lacy's Soap Box Derby share the same vehicle specifications as the likes of McLaren, Renault and Williams.
The big boys from Sussex now think their smaller Herefordshire counterparts are fair game and are prepared to take part in a day's racing at Foxley Estate on Sunday, June 29.
There are four prizes at stake; for the team that raises the most money, the team with the fastest times in its class, the best turned out soapbox and crew and the most innovative design.
Other attractions include music by Bandemonium, morris dancing, fairground rides, Punch and Judy, Robot War machines, vintage vehicles, a rifle range and refreshments.
Proceeds will go to Hereford charities, including St Michael's Hospice, The Samaritans, Victim Support, Hereford Animal Aid and St John Ambulance Brigade.
For further information and application forms contact Cal Edwards at Yew Tree Cottage, Mansel Lacy, Hereford or phone 01981 590625.
