LUCTONIANS Rugby Club will meet the Archbishop Desmond Tutu when they visit South Africa as part of their 'Boots For All' trip.
Representatives from the Kingsland based club will travel out to Africa on July 25 and will visit Johannesburg and The Cape as guests of the South African Rugby Football Union.
They will hand over hundreds of pairs of boots, which have been collected at Mortimer Park, to the African youngsters when they visit the Super Sports Clubs Championship in Johannesburg.
Simon Davies, Director of Youth Sports for Luctonians, said: "The aim of the trip is to further relations with the South African Rugby Football Union and to see how we can further develop the Boots Project. We will be looking at one of the club sides that have benefited from the project and seeing how we can arrange a rugby tour to the UK for this team."
"The fact that we are now meeting with Archbishop Tutu to receive a blessing for the project is fantastic.''
