EMMA Harris, formerly of The Herefordshire but who now plays from Burghill Valley, used her knowledge of the Wormsley course to good effect when she won the Herefordshire Ladies Championship, at Ravens Causeway, with a gross 74.
Local member Sue Mawby took second place on a card countback from Joan Malim (Ross) after they both carded 81.
Katie Palmer (South Hereford) was a runaway winner of the Hereford Times Cup handicap competition with a splendid nett 60, some seven shots clear of runner-up Lesley Turbutt (Leominster), with Linda Vaughan (Burghill Valley) a further shot adrift in third place.

Leominster (Lesley Turbutt, Julie Powell, Bet Hinchcliffe and Margaret Pitt) were the clear winners of the Woodpecker Team Shield with a total of 206, finishing 14 shots clear of runners-up Sapey (P Ellis, T Woolridge, A Whetton and W Dullam).
q Vera Howell led the way with 39 stableford points to win Kington's Challenge Bowl competition.
Sherry Gore lost out on a card countback but won the silver division, and Marion Weaver posted 32 points to win the bronze section.

q Burghill Valley captain Glenys Cassidy was blessed with glorious weather for her Captain's Day competition.
In spite of being limited to only seven clubs and a putter the competitors coped well with Jo Taylor taking the top prize on a card countback with an impressive 39 stableford points.
Mary Crockett, in spite of an ace on the par-3 eighth hole, also posted 39 points but had to be content with second place.
Vicky Howells was third with 37 points and Joan Dukes a further point adrift in fourth place.
