CANON Frome, having lost once this season, travelled to unbeaten Marches League Division One side Leominster, who decided to bat first.
LEOMINSTER I v CANON FROME 1
They lost their first wickets in the second over with Chris Styles removing opener Barrington. The home side's innings soon became something of a procession as wickets tumbled to the swing bowling of Styles who took the first five wickets to fall, Leominster reaching 7-5 from 12 overs. Frome skipper Andy Rogers then joined the fray, grabbing the sixth wicket thanks to a catch at third slip by Matt Fortnam.
Another wicket to Styles soon followed by the 19th over of the innings which saw two boundaries, both were byes that eluded keeper Andrew Duddell.
Over number 20 saw two more wickets for Styles and when Rogers took his second wicket in the 21st over with a Nick Panniers catch, Leominster had been dismissed for a paltry 25 all out, Styles finished with figures of 8-5 from ten overs.
Frome knocked off the runs in just 23 balls, Matt Fortnam (2) being outscored by the cavalier Rob Mence who made 18 including four boundaries. Leominster's unbeaten run ended in style with Frome picking up the maximum 20 points.
The early finish meant that Frome were able to return home to watch their second eleven in action against Wormelow.
It proved to be a double celebration as Frome Seconds won their match.
There was some aggressive celebration of wickets by Nick Fox and some madcap hand waving by captain Matt Richards as Frome Seconds picked up 17 points.
