Ledbury CC were short of runs at Bartestree & Lugwardine over the weekend losing both days in a league and cup fixture.
On Saturday in the Flint & Cook Marches League Division Two the home side reached 211-9 with S Beach to top-scoring with 81 and good contributions from M Aubrey with 36 and G Thompson with 21. Mark Herbert was Ledbury's best bowler taking 4-49.
Ledbury struggled to keep up with the score rate and closed on 154-8. M Embury was in good form and made a fine 78 and R Greening 27.
In the second round of the league knockout cup on Sunday, Bartestree & Lugwardine again batted first and made 175-5.
G Jones led the way with 60 supported by P Hinckley with 30 and B Simpkins with 28. Mark Herbert was again Ledbury's main wicket-taker with 3-39.
In reply Ledbury were all out for 134. Mark Herbert top scored with 22, K Smith made 18 and young Dan Herbert made 15.
The home side's D Jones was the thorn in the Ledbury side taking 5-25.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury are at home against Knighton.
