A NEW 'pitch' for the future of Hereford's Bulmers Sports Field should be made soon. Developers have gone back to the drawing board to take a second shot at 59 homes and upgraded facilities on the Kings Acre site.
The initial application was withdrawn before being debated by planners last week. Persimmon Homes (South Midlands) wants to come back with a new application that settles issues arising out of the original.
George Thomas, for Bulmers, said a sale of the 3.5-hectare site - subject to planning approval - still formed part of the company's financial comeback.
The sale, said Mr Thomas, was going ahead on the assumption that likely Bulmers buyer Scottish and Newcastle would want it. There was no link between the application being withdrawn and the impending take-over, he said.
The initial application created a housing estate of 59 homes. Upgraded cricket and bowling facilities and a new pavilion went with the plan.
