CLASSICAL guitarist Gareth Rees-Roberts launches his new CD at The Lion Ballroom, Leominster on June 27 in a programme that includes works by Villa Lobos, Pujol, Tarrega, Barrios and Domeniconi.
The man behind the first Presteigne Festival in 1983 and founder chairman of the Mid Border Arts Association, Gareth has performed in many venues across the country since studying guitar at the Royal Academy of Music and training with the young musicians' scheme founded by Yehudi Menhuin.
Having lived on the Welsh border for 25 years, he gives solo recitals as well as performing with his wife (soprano, Lynden Rees-Roberts) as the Arden Duo, and Arcady - with whom he plays both lute and guitar as well as singing.
Tickets for Friday's recital are available on 01568 611232 and 01432 275063.
