EVERY hospital needs it friends and the County Hospital in Hereford is no exception.
The League of Friends has been giving its support to both the old County and General Hospitals for more than 30 years. Some of its founding members are still with the Friends of the County Hospital and since the opening of the new hospital have been able to purchase equipment and other extras for the wards worth £58,000.
The friends say they plan to continue fundraising and helping where they can.
But they would like more volunteers to swell the ranks and keep the good work going.
With two hospitals now under one roof, the committee is inviting new friends to come on board.
To promote the idea and to give more information, the Friends of the County Hospital are planning an open afternoon in the main reception area of the hospital on Thursday, June 26, from 1-6pm.
Just turn up, have a chat with existing members and be persuaded to help.
If you can't be there call secretary Joan Rigsby on 01432 355154 or chairwoman Eve Morris on 01432 273034 for more information.
