Ledbury & District ASC held its fifth championship gala of this year at Ledbury pool.
With over 80 competitors aged from six to 16 it was a busy and exciting event, during which seven existing club records were broken.
The youngest record breaker was Joe Bloxsome aged seven, winning the 25m freestyle race in a time of 22.16. In the next age group the eight year old boys, a new record of 19.75 was swum by George Bennion. George's sister Lucy swimming in the 11 year age group set new records in the 200m breaststroke and 50m butterfly, winning the junior championship trophies in these events an achievement matched in the boys events by 11 year old Luke Rycroft. New member Rachael Lea swam her 25m freestyle in a time of 16.02 to set a new record in the Novice event.
Senior championship trophies were presented by Barton Yates of Orme, Dyke, Yates (Solicitors) to Laura West and Jamie Dunn for the 50m butterfly and to Sarah Bethell and Hywel Pothecary for 200m breaststroke events.
Gold medal winners were:
50m butterfly - Laura West, Sarah Bethell, Alison Pudge, Jamie Dunn, Hywel Pothecary, Luke Rycroft, Arron Almond and Thomas Stokes.
100m freestyle - Laura West, Sarah Bethell, Rachael Lea, Jamie Dunn and Hywel Pothecary.
200m breaststroke - Sarah Bethell, Lucy Bennion, Alison Pudge, Olivia Powell, Jamie Dunn, Hywel Pothecary, Luke Rycroft, Arron Almond and George Bennion.
25m freestyle - Josie Rycroft, Lucy Stokes, George Bennion and Joe Bloxsome. 25m novice race - Rachael Lea and Thomas Pinnell.
Swimmers are now training for the 800m freestyle championship on October 12 and the sixth and final club gala on November 4.
Next weekend a team of 35 swimmers are having a weekend away swimming at a gala at Blackpool.
