A WEST African woman arrived in Bromyard on Saturday foran eight-week stay on exchange with town company Micron Sprayers.

Twenty-one-year-old Yanel Adjovi will be learning about chemical sprayers used to spray cotton and carrying out a project to look at the market potential of one of the company's sprayers for use in Benin, where she comes from.

Micron sales director Haydn Beddows said: "Yanel has got a fairly intensive programme arranged for her. She will be working in the factory and warehouse going round various departments like shipping, accounts, research and development.

"She's staying with people who work for the company. We thought rather than having her in a B&B or one place for eight weeks, it would be better to stay with a different family every week to get a better idea of Bromyard."

Micron work primarily with companies in French-speaking African countries and Yanel's father is a distributor of their equipment in Benin.

Chairman of Bromyard's Twinning Association Martin Ganderton said: "We are helping out with accommodation for Yanel and will be having a get together at some point. This is the sort of place that Bromyard is - people are very welcoming."
