A performance of Handel's Messiah featuring Bromyard Choir is to take place at Bromyard's Leisure Centre on December 15 at 7.30pm.

The 65-strong choir will be joined by four professional soloists and members of the Chandos Orchestra in the recital, conducted by Richard Popple MBE.

The £3,000 production follows the choir's successful presentation of the Creation last year.

Secretary of Bromyard and District Choral Society, Mary Ganderton, said: "This is only the second time Bromyard will have had a big occasion like this. We have got a thriving choir. We went to Holland earlier this year and sang two concerts, we were in France before that and next summer we have been invited to Finland".

The Society meets every Tuesday evening in the Methodist Hall at 7.30pm and has concerts twice a year in church.

To help the society stage the Christmas concert, Bromyard and Winslow Town Council has agreed to donate £750.

Tickets will be £8 advance, £6 concs advance, £10 on door, accompanied children under 12 free. Tickets will be on sale soon from choir members, Food for All or from Mary Ganderton on 01885 482716.
