Kington Town 4 Smethwick Rangers 0

THREE goals in a 10-minute spell midway through the first half set Kington on the way to their second big win of the week in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

It extended their unbeaten run to five games and moved them into the top 10 in the table.

The home team started well but had to wait until the 20th minute before turning their superiority into goals. Roy Jordan made ground down the left wing and Ben Chambers met his low cross at the near post to clip the ball past the Smethwick keeper.

Kington scored twice more during the next 10 minutes to take a complete stranglehold on the match. Scott Jackson netted the second with a left-footed volley from the edge of the penalty area, and then Jordan banged in the third.

With the home team in cruise mode the game appeared to be heading towards a 3-0 result until Paul Mann struck 10 minutes from time to complete a comfortable win. In a carbon copy of the first goal Mann was on hand at the near post to turn in Carl Morgan's centre.

Kington Town 5 Ledbury Town 0

After netting just 13 goals in their first 11 league matches, Kington suddenly found their shooting boots in the first half of the local derby fixture with Ledbury.

They notched five goals before the break to run out emphatic winners over their high-riding opponents.

Scott Jackson (2), Danny Hill (2) and Roy Jordan were on target during a one-sided first period where the under-strength visitors were always on the back foot.

After the break the home team eased off and Ledbury showed some spirit to take the game to their opponents but, without their free-scoring strikers, they never seriously threatened the confident home team.
