Leominster opened their West Clubs Women's League Severn Division 2 account with a 4-3 win over visiting Wootton Bassett.
Caught out by a quick Wootton Basset break, Leominster fought back with goals from captain Vicky Benson and Kate Holder to take a 2-1 interval advantage.
Wootton Bassett pushed for an equaliser after the half time but were stung by further strikes from Benson and Holder.
Although the visitors responded themselves with two quick goals, Leominster held on for a hard-fought victory.
Hereford slipped to a 4-2 defeat at home to Marlborough in their first North Division outing of the campaign.
Marlborough started strongly, breaking the deadlock, but Hereford quickly equalised when Ollie Linton finished off a fine run by Clare Butler. Hereford's defence conceded three quick goals before half time, leaving them with a mountain to climb in the second period.
Hereford dominated the half, creating many chances, but found the net only once through Abby Heaton.
Hereford Cathedral School have won their opening four matches. The side trounced Hereford Sixth Form College 7-0 and have also beaten Malvern College 4-0, Christ College 4-2, and Malvern Girls' College 2-1
