AYLESTONE School went into the second round of the Daily Mail Under-15 Cup with a convincing 46-7 win over John Kyrle High School, Ross-on-Wye.
Michael Leach snapped up a hat-trick of tries and Christian Williams scored two, while Matthew Myles slotted over three conversions.
Ross Blackman, Kyle Cardey and Stephen Brotherwood also touched down for Aylestone, who now face Bishop's in the next round of the competition at Victoria Park this Saturday.
n Hereford Cathedral School produced a fine display in a 48-12 defeat of Cheltenham-based Dean Close.
The Cathedral forwards asserted themselves from the kick-off and it was no surprise when full-back Jake Coates started the rout with the first of his four tries.
Richard Reynolds, James White, Ben Pattison and John Smythe also registered tries for the Cathedral and Ashley Nahorniak weighed in with two conversions and a penalty.
n Bishop's beat Aylestone 3-0 at home when both teams struggled in wet and slippery conditions. The game was played at a fast and frenetic pace, with neither team gaining control.
Both sides created opportunities to score but the cover tackling prevented any tries.
The game was settled by a 30-metre penalty in line with the posts, struck by Bishop's full-back Ryan Tabb midway through the first half.
n Hereford Sixth Form College made a first-round exit from the Dail Mail Under-18 Cup when beaten 22-12 at home by RGS Worcester.
