SWIFTS hosted Hinton in this Tony Cole U11's Cup first round match and with their best performance of the season ran out winners after an entertaining game.
LEDBURY SWIFTS 5, HINTON 2
It was Hinton who scored with their first attack, however Swifts soon hit back with a great equaliser when Thomas Boyle broke down the left and his cross was met by Joshua Emery who finished in style. Swifts soon took the lead when some good play in midfield saw Ross Davis, Simon Hughes and Chris James combine to set Thomas Boyle free and he made no mistake to put Swifts ahead. Swifts added a third from a Lewis Hodges when Joshua Emery pounced to fire home.
Hinton came out determined soon they had pulled it back to 3-2. This however stirred Swifts into a response when the dangerous Thomas Boyle stormed into the box, his shot was well saved but the ball rebounded into the net off an unfortunate defender. Swifts continued to play well and good work by Simon Hughes and the outstanding Joshua Emery set up Thomas Boyle who once again finished in style.
