YOUNGSTERS at Ashperton Primary School are enjoying their new outdoor play facilities.
The reception class now has a special roadway, complete with roundabout, for their trikes and other ride-on toys.
This was built by parents during the summer holiday.
An old shed in the school grounds has also been repainted as a police station and garage, to give the children more ideas for play.
"It's really great and they really enjoy it," said reception teacher Emma Marriage, whose own mum and dad rolled up their sleeves and did their bit by helping to paint the shed.
"The children love it. They ride around and get some really imaginative games going. They are really settling in and making friends."
Headteacher David Swann said: "Emma has been with us since January and she's a great reception teacher, a real asset to the school."
