AGE Concern Ross-on-Wye and District will be formally launched tonight, Thursday, September 27.
Based in Ross, the new group will, once it is up and running, work in an area covering the southern part of the county from Sollers Hope and Yatton in the north east to Llanrothal and Welsh Newton in the south west.
A partnership of WRVS and Age Concern Herefordshire and Worcestershire and Age Concern Ross-on-Wye and District is in the process of recruiting a Development Officer.
He or she will have the task of researching the needs of older people in the area and recommending ways in which WRVS and Age Concern can work together to enhance quality of life in Ross and the surrounding area.
The formal launch will allow the present four local Trustees of Age Concern. Requests for further information about Age Concern Ross-on-Wye and District - and offers of help - can be directed to any of the present Trustees: Brian Gange (on 01989 768902), Jean Wagstaff (on 01989 567242), Chris Hulbert (on 01600 891128) or Anne Gray (on 01989 765548).
