TWO goals from Leigh Harris put Pegasus into the first round of the FA Carlsberg Vase for the second successive year.
The North East Counties League outfit settled first and Andrew Watkins pulled off a brilliant save to deny Steve Dillion.
Pegasus, however, drew first blood on 13 minutes when Mark Davis' shot was parried, and Harris drove home the rebound.
Pegasus then pushed forward but were denied a second goal when Neil Etheridge made a triple save from Harris, Davis and Martin Powell.
The visitors were punished in the final minute of the half when Fred Morgan slotted in the equaliser.
But, on the hour, Harris headed in the winner after a Davis header had been palmed on to the crossbar by Etheridge.

Pegasus' Mark Davis fired a double in this resounding Cherry Red Records Hellenic League Premier Division victory.
Good interplay between Mike Symonds and Leigh Harris set up James Watkins to open the scoring with his sixth goal of the campaign.
On the half-hour Martin Powell threaded the ball to Davis, who rounded the goalkeeper and shot home from 10 yards out.
The championship contenders reduced the deficit on the stroke of half time, when Lee Kilfoyle replied.
But Powell restored the home side's two-goal advantage, sweeping in a fine five-man move.
Davis, making a comeback after missing the last five games through injury, rounded off the scoring, when he beat the visiting goalkeeper from the edge of the penalty area.
