Ledbury 64 pts Gloucester Spartans 14
LEDBURY ran riot in a one-sided friendly, re-arranged after their opening Midlands 4 West (South) fixture was cancelled.
The home side opened cautiously, playing down the slope, until Henry Blandford set up Olly Kaye to touch down in the corner for the first try of his well-taken hat-trick.
Further incisive play from Ledbury led to a second try from centre Kieran Hallam and then captain Mick Christopherson galloped 40 yards to add the third, giving the Herefordshire side a 17-0 half-time advantage.
Spartans pinned back Ledbury in the opening stages of the second half, returning with two penalties, but Ledbury duly responded and Denver Rollings released Kaye who whizzed in from 70 yards.
With Spartans flagging noticeably, Christopherson ran 50 yards to score.
Ledbury ran the visitors ragged in the final period, registering further tries from scrum-half Rob Collins, Hallam, Kaye, Blandford and substitute Tara Burston.
n Dave Wright's converted try and a penalty could not stop visiting Ledbury 2nd slipping to a 14-10 defeat against Drybrook 2nd.
