PEOPLE in Hereford are to get another opportunity for a free test for diabetes.
Hereford Lions Club is staging the tests at the Shirehall in the city centre on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
The test, carried out by trained nurses, only takes a minute and men and women, particularly those aged 45 and more, are being urged to take advantage of the opportunity.
Lion's Club member Chris Draper said "Diabetes cannot be cured, only controlled and this can only be done if people know they are suffering from it. At least half the people with diabetes are unaware they have the condition. It takes only a minute to find out, so we urge people to come and be tested.''
Around 300 people attended a similar session in Hereford last year and the few people who were found to have diabetes are now receiving the appropriate medical treatment.
Lions are also looking for more nurses to help with the testing and anyone with a couple of hours to spare should ring Chris Draper on 01432 275812.
