A STRIKER and a goalkeeper remain Hereford United's chief transfer targets as they prepare for their latest pre-season friendly tonight.
The Bulls entertain Second Division Oxford United (7.45), with Director of Football Graham Turner still no closer to finding the men he wants.
Turner said: "We have a couple of 'keepers we are having a look at, and we still have one or two prospective signings we are having a look at."
Trialist striker Michael Holt, formerly with Rochdale, is likely to get another run-out although he failed to impress in Saturday's home defeat against Aston Villa. Turner added: "He needs to get himself a lot fitter."
Defenders Tony James and Matt Clarke, midfielder John Snape and striker Rob Elmes should all return after missing the Villa game through injuries.
The Bulls are still looking for their first pre-season victory after a punishing schedule so far, but Turner said: "We are not trying to reach any peaks. We are just trying to get everybody fit and ready for August 19.
"It will be Oxford's first team and they start the season a week earlier than us so they will be a week further ahead of us in their fitness."
n Archdales play Pershore Town in their latest friendly at Windermere Drive, Worcester tonight (7pm).
