FORMER Northern Ireland international striker Jimmy Quinn has signed for Hereford United on a non-contract basis.
Quinn, who made his debut for the Bulls at Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday, has recently been playing for Northwich Victoria after being sacked as manager of Swindon Town at the end of last season.
The 40-year-old made 571 league appearances in a career which took in Swindon, Blackburn, Leicester, Bradford, West Ham, Bournemouth, Reading and Peterborough. He scored 210 goals, the first of which came for Swindon against Hereford at Edgar Street back in September 1982.
Quinn, who was also player-manager of Reading, is actively looking for another management position but said: "I'm available for as long as Hereford want me. I was travelling up to Northwich and that was rather a long way but Hereford is only an hour from my home in Cirencester.
"There are a lot of good players at Hereford and I'm looking forward to it."
