Hereford United are confident they can extend the loan deals of goalkeeper Scott Cooksey and defender Tom White.
The pair's month-long deals are both due to end after tomorrow's Nationwide Conference match at Hayes (3.00).
Director of Football Graham Turner wants to resolve the positions of both players so they will be available for Monday's trip to Stevenage Borough.
United have not lost since Cooksey and White arrived at Edgar Street, and Turner said: "I have spoken to Tom but have not spoken to his club Bristol Rovers yet, and I haven't spoken to Scott or Shrewsbury yet. I am hoping we can keep them both on for another month."
Winger Paul Parry is United's only doubt for tomorrow's game after suffering a groin strain during last week's fine 2-0 win over high-flying Dover.
Turner is looking for the Bulls to reproduce the kind of form they showed against Dover as they bid to maintain their outside chances of breaking into the title race.
He said: "We looked quite bright and it was fairly comfortable up until the last half-hour. It will have given us confidence."
Turner knows that this weekend will be crucial for his side, with away fixtures against the only two visiting sides to have won Conference games at Edgar Street this season.
But with United now unbeaten in their last seven Conference games, they will travel to Church Road in buoyant mood.
Turner added: "Because there aren't too many Conference games this weekend, it gives us a great chance to close the gap on the leaders.
"We can't rule anything out yet. There is always a chance that the leading clubs will crack under the pressure of being at the top, and a number of them have this season.
"We will see if Kidderminster and Rushden have got the nerve to stay up there, and we have to make sure we are in there if they haven't."
Hayes won 2-0 at Hereford back in October, and Turner said: "They are a big, rugged side but we have looked a lot stronger away from home of late."
