HEREFORDSHIRE County Bowling Association hosted the annual Three Counties Bowling Festival at Leominster and Kingsland Bowling Clubs recently and came out on top, with Worcester running them close and Gloucester finishing bottom.
Herefordshire won on four rinks and lost on two, and although Worcester had the same result, the home county had a superior shots difference and this was enough to win the Three Counties Bowling Association trophy.
The Herefordshire County President, Eric Jones of Castle Green BC, had cause for double celebration as he received the trophy on behalf of his county and was then installed as the new President of the Three Counties Bowling Association by Jim Coates, the retiring President.
In his remarks at the installation, Jim Coates of Worcestershire paid tribute to the clubs who had hosted the festival, and to the green keepers for such fine greens.
He also congratulated the secretary, Alan Tringham of Herefordshire, and all others who had worked hard to make the Festival a success.
Jim also stated how pleasing it was that the incoming President had been successful in winning the Festival.
