LEDBURY'S firefighters will carrying out a street collection tomorrow (Saturday) on behalf of the families of colleagues killed in the World Trade Centre in New York.
Fire engines will be parked outside Somerfield, in New Street, and Tesco, in the Homend.
"Firefighters in Hereford and Worcester have raised £50,000 so far and now it's our turn to help," said Sub Officer Terry Phillips.
"It was a terrible thing and we must do what we can to help our colleagues in America. We would ask everybody to give generously."
Hundreds of emergency personnel are among the dead or missing following the terrorist attack.
