Bridgnorth Town Res 1 Leominster Town 2
SCOTT Hodgetts saved a crucial last-minute penalty to ensure Leominster recorded their third consecutive win in the West Midlands League Division 1 South.
They are in second place, one point behind leaders Sedgley.
Leominster dominated the first half but the home team proved dangerous on the break and took the lead from one such situation. Craig Harris, who had already seen one shot well stopped by Hodgetts, gained possession following a ricochet and this time gave the keeper no chance. Daniel Rocke, Steve Williams and Neil Bennett all missed chances to equalise.
Bennett and Luke Jones both shot narrowly over in the early stages of the second period but the visitors were not to be denied and netted two goals from corners - Dylan Barrington chested the ball over the line at the near post and Williams headed home at the far post.
They then rested on their laurels and Bridgnorth hit back, leading to Matt Pugh being penalised for hand ball, but Hodgetts dived to save the resultant penalty.
