Greyhound 27 pts Market Drayton 6
GREYHOUND scored four tries in this National Junior Cup first-round clash to avenge last season's narrow defeat by the Shropshire visitors.
Despite trailing to an early penalty, Greyhound held the territorial advantage and Phil Davies duly opened their account with a fine running try. Rob Brimfield kicked a penalty in reply to two successful Market Drayton kicks at goal and Mark Green's converted try increased the hosts' lead.
Man-of-the-match John Crockett touched down after the interval and Green again crashed over for a converted try as Greyhound marched into the next round of the competition.
Bromyard went out with a 38-7 home defeat to Stourport and Ledbury were beaten 15-7 at Wednesbury.
l Greyhound Ladies' try scorer Julie Stansbridge suffered a dislocated knee in a 5-5 draw with visiting Tewkesbury. Greyhound dominated the game but they were rocked by that injury, which left them a player short, and could not turn possession into points.
