A Hereford Cathedral schoolboy has become the youngest Royal Yachting Association instructor in the world.
At the tender age of 15, David Bray, a member of Hereford Boat Club, is on the crest of a wave in the early stages of his sailing career .
"I would like to become a professional yachtsman, but I haven't done any instructing yet because I am now at school," said David who qualified shortly before celebrating his 16th birthday.
David became hooked on sailing at the age of about five, when he used to go out in a boat with his father.
His enthusiasm for the sport saw him sign up for classes at Salcombe, Devon with the Cathedral School. At the age of 13 he had already climbed to the top of sailing school.
David, who is currently studying for AS levels, plans to use his new qualification to embark on a yachting career when he finishes his education.
