SOMETHING to sing about - a concert with an international flavour at St Mary's Church, Pembridge, Herefordshire, taking place on September 29.
Featuring Rosemary Fletcher, Stephen Hollinghurst and Hedley Tucker accompanied by Robert Gordon-Blacker, the programme will be as varied as the backgrounds of the performers.
Rosemary Fletcher first sang in the area at the Blue Note caf in Leominster and demand for a full concert in a larger venue was obvious. However, trips back home to Kenya meant that plans had to be put on hold until now. With a powerful voice and a varied repertoire this singer has a great future ahead of her.
Stephen Hollinghurst needs no introduction, being a regular concert performer as both a solo artist and with Kington and District Operatic Society.
Hedley Tucker is fondly described as a vintage French cabaret singer who once followed the comedians and the 'naughty girls' in Lyon. Hedley's singing style has more than a touch of Trenet and Piaf about it. Hedley is not to be missed!
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from The Steppes or The Black and White Visitor Centre in Pembridge or by post from R Anderson, The Garth, Pembridge, Herefordshire HR6 9DX. All proceeds to Pembridge Church.
