CENTRAL defender Richard Walker put Hereford on the way to a comfortable FA Umbro Trophy first round win with a brace of goals, his first since joining the club from Notts County in the close season.
Striker Tony Agana, playing his first full game since an Achilles tendon injury put him out of action in August, was the other marksman for the Bulls, whose previous appearance in the competition was 26 years ago.
Although a Hereford victory never looked in doubt, Ryman Leaguers Dulwich tried to play open soccer throughout, underlined by the fact that there were 21 corners, 12 in United's favour.
Corners proved to be Dulwich's undoing, however, as all three goals resulted from flag-kicks. Walker said: ''All the hours of practising set- pieces came off at last.''
Neil Grayson went close to giving United a second- minute lead, rattling the bar with a header. They eventually opened the scoring in the 24th minute when the visitors only managed to clear Brian McGorry's corner to Gavin Mahon. The midfielder put Walker in possession and he lashed a low shot past keeper Darren Williams from 12 yards.
Eleven minutes later Walker scored his second goal from a text-book corner, again taken by McGorry. Mahon's headed flick-on found Walker perfectly placed to nod the ball home from close range. Just before half- time only a superb reflex save by Williams prevented Jamie Pitman making it 3-0.
At the other end Williams' counterpart Andy de Bont was called into action on a couple of occasions. He tipped Steve Restarick's drive over the bar and had to move quickly to whip the ball off Steve McMimm's feet as he was about to shoot.
After the break Grayson was again out of luck when his header from Pitman's cross struck the bar, while Agana thought his shot had crossed the line before Tony Chin hacked it away. The veteran striker was not long in achieving compensation, back-heading Murray Fishlock's corner into the net in the 79th minute.
Premiership referee Steve Dunn, of Bristol, had an easy afternoon, producing the yellow card only once when Dulwich's Luke Anderson fouled Walker.
Hereford: de Bont (Quy 64 min), Warner, Brough, Walker, Fishlock, Pitman, McGorry (Cook 45 min), Mahon, Hargreaves, Grayson, Agana (McCue 79 min).
Attendance: 2,101.
