FORMER Hereford United manager Colin Addison who had two spells at Edgar Street returned to the hot seat this week after landing the job at Third Division outfit Swansea City.

Addison was installed at the Vetch with Barry Town's, Peter Nicholas, after John Hollins left the Welsh side on Wednesday.

Addison, who left his role with Nationwide Conference outfit Yeovil in the summer after the Glovers narrowly missed out on promotion from the Conference, was delighted to be back in the Football League.

"It's all happened very quickly but it's nice to be back in the Football League," he said.

"I was invited to take over it was as simple as that.

"Mike Lewis, who I worked with at Newport, rang me to ask if I would be interested and it was as quick as that.

"I have been here many times as a player and manager and it is a big club with big traditions and tremendous potential.

"It was not long ago that they went all the way to Division One with John Toshack and it's a great opportunity. I'm looking forward to working with Peter Nicholas."

Addison refused to make any predictions for the Welsh club except to say he was taking one game at a time starting with Halifax at home today.

"I'm not into making predictions but we will try and win each games as it comes along," he said.

"Two years ago they got a promotion but sadly slipped back last year."

Addison, who has lived in Hereford for 30 years, has not managed to see the Bulls play this year but knows the size of the task facing Graham Turner.

"It's a tough league to get out but after the last two years with Yeovil and Scarborough I think this year is more open than ever," he said.

"I don't think there is a Rushden or Yeovil to run away with it and I think the current top six, plus Hereford could all be challenging."
