Ledbury Rugby Club were presented with what will be one of their most treasured 'trophies' on Saturday - a bench from the old RFU committee box at Twickenham.
When parts of Twickenham were demolished prior to the ground's refurbishment the then RFU president Ian Beer was offered the benches by the workman just as they were about to throw them out and he gratefully accepted.
Now retired to Ledbury, where his son Philip, was club captain in the 90's, Mr Beer thought it would be a nice gesture to hand one over to the Ledbury club and that's what he did.
Press officer John Wilesmith said: "The bench is about eight feet by two feet and made of cast iron with solid hardwood. It is original, very unusual and quite exquisite."
The bench is due to be bolted to the floor inside the Ross Road clubhouse.
"We will be taking good care of it," he said.
