Colwall collected two comprehensive victories, the first over Rushwick on Saturday by seven wickets and then a four wicket win at Herefordians on Sunday.
COLWALL v RUSHWICK
LOSING the toss against Rushwick at Stowe Lane, Colwall struggled early on as the visitors attacked the pace attack of Will Hards and Josh Hornyold to score 56 off the opening ten overs.
They soon collapsed however to 70-4 as Hornyold and Damien Berry (3-34) struck back. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals from then on, Dave Sutton bowling particularly well and taking figures of 2-4 off five overs. Williams' late 32 run slog helped Rushwick reach a respectable total of 151 in the final over.
Colwall were always in control after Tom Wolfendale's and Dave Powell's excellent 136 first wicket partnership. Rushwick did however take three late wickets after Williams dismissed Wolfendale for 73 and Martin Oliver and Myron Lawrence fell cheaply. Powell (65no) seeing Colwall home with seven overs to spare.
HEREFORDIANS v COLWALL
COLWALL'S good form continued in the Herefordshire Sunday League as Stuart Bailey's (4-12) and Will Hards' (43) performances were the highlights of a four wicket victory.
Winning the toss Colwall dismissed Herefordians for 149 in the 39th over, Fry (57) and Wilcox (28) top scoring.
Colwall's assault on the total was boosted early on by Will Hards' quick fire 43. The hard hitting innings that included three sixes put Colwall in control although it needed steady contributions from Tom Wolfendale (24) and Luke McQueen (25) to keep the visitors on track. Mason's 4-51 hit back for Herefordians but the pair's 38 fifth wicket partnership saw them in sight of home. Stuart Bailey and Kevin Smith saw Colwall to the target and collect a four wicket win with 11 overs to spare.
