Hereford United hit the Lancashire coast for their away clash with comedian Jim Bowen's Morecambe side in the Nationwide Conference tomorrow (3pm) but Graham Turner will be hoping he has the last laugh.
United's Director of Football saw the Bulls slip up at new leaders Dagenham & Redbridge in midweek but despite the 1-0 defeat Turner was pleased with his side's performance.
Now he is planning to cast a net over The Shrimps, whose president is Bowen, but with four wins in their last four home matches, Turner's side faces a testing afternoon.
The Morecambe squad is a mixture of experience and youth including Ryan-Zico Black, who was named after the legendary Brazilian number 10.
Turner admits that with several clubs battling for pole position near the top of the Conference table, Hereford must bounce straight back to remain in contention and in contact with the leaders.
"There is such a fluctuation in places at the moment that you can't afford to lose two games on the trot so tomorrow's game is important for us," he said.
"We haven't won there for a couple of years so we need to put that right.
"We didn't play badly at Dagenham and should have got something out of the game.
"We finished strongly but their keeper made a couple of good saves and if there was any consolation to the players it is that he was made man of the match.
"But the disappointment of defeat should be tempered by the level of performance we produced.
"The manner in which we played, although we did concede a few chances when we were chasing the game, should give the players confidence for the match at Morecambe."
Turner is set to name an unchanged squad from the one that travelled to Dagenham & Redbridge.
He is still without several long term injuries including Scott Voice and Scott Cooksey but midfielder Jimmy Quiggin had been due for a run out in the reserves until their match against Telford was cancelled.
Hereford (from): Baker, Clarke, M, Williams, Webb, Wright, T. James, C. James, Piearce, Snape, Elmes, G. Williams, Parry, Goodwin, Evans, Davidson, Sedgemore.
Formcast: Bulls to upset Jim Bowen by hitting the bullseye for a 2-1 win.
