BROMYARD racer Nick Adcock enjoyed a successful conclusion to his Volkswagen Racing Cup season last Sunday at Brands Hatch in Kent, taking a brace of third place finishes in the twin races.
Adcock, aged 36, qualified his Electromotion-backed Beetle RSi in fourth position on the grid and battled to third in the first of the day's races after a long duel with the Vento VR6 of William Black.
The very quick Corrado of Ken Lark won the race at the final corner from the Beetle of Michael Neuhoff.
In the second race Adcock again took third after winning an early battle again with Black. This time Neuhoff took the win ahead of Lark.
Adcock's tally for the season stands at seven top four race finishes, including one second place, from 12 outings. He finished the year in sixth place overall in the championship and fourth in Class A.
The Class A and outright crowns went to Neuhoff.
Though the championship may be finished, the Volkswagen Racing Cup competitors will be back in action on Sunday, September 23, at Donington Park for a special race supporting the British Touring Car Championship.
