Wellington 2
Malvern Town 1
WELLINGTON goalkeeper Jim Panniers hit top form in his side's third successive West Midlands League Premier Division victory of the campaign.
Panniers could do little to keep out a 20th minute strike, but made two magnificent stops just after the interval which kept his side in contention.
Inspired by Panniers' agility and bravery, which included a brilliant smothering save, Wellington fought back.
Captain and centre-back Mark Fish broke down the left flank and fired a 60th minute equaliser underneath the body of the advancing Malvern goalkeeper.
Wellington continued to dominate and experienced striker Jerry Griffiths latched on to a Liam Craig through ball.
Although foiled with his first attempt, Griffiths seized upon the rebound and planted his shot into the empty net for the clinching goal.
