Bromyard 1
Smethwick Rangers 2
A SUPERB Wayne Tizzard strike could not stop Bromyard tumbling to defeat in this West Midlands League Premier Division encounter.
Trailing 2-0, Tizzard netted with a powerful 65th minute 22-yard free kick but Smethwick held on for the points.
Smethwick made a flying start, with Bromyard's stand-in goalkeeper Andrew James pulling off a good reaction save in the 8th minute. But James could do little to prevent Bains heading in the resulting corner.
Luke Seldon headed against the bar from close range as Bromyard almost snatched an equaliser, but it was the visitors who grabbed the important second goal in the 60th minute when Jason Denton latched on to a right-wing cross.
Although the Smethwick goal lived a charmed life, the visitors held on to claim the win.
