SOME said it couldn't be done - but Betty Davies proved them wrong.
When the chairman of the St Martin's Church Flower festival announced that she was going to create a floral archway over the main door, there were a few doubting Thomases who questioned her plans.
But as our picture demonstrates, Betty's blooms were a success and provided a wonderful welcome to visitors.
Inside the church, displays depicting everything from rainbows and lightning to Florence Nightingale filled the building from top to bottom.
And St Martin's connections to the Special Air Service were also represented with a display by SAS wives.
