WORMELOW captured the Pavilion Sports Cup with a dramatic four-wicket win over Marden at Ross.
Replying to Marden's 156 all out, man-of-the-match 16-year-old Tom Brierley struck an unbeaten 36 to steer Wormelow to their target with just two balls to spare.
Brierley, who had taken 2-13 off nine miserly overs, collected four boundaries in his vital 51-ball knock, having arrived at the crease following the demise of Ian Herbert (22) with Wormelow in trouble at 99-5 off 26 overs.
Openers Jamie Langford (36) and Bryan Pedersen (31) had given Wormelow a fine start, putting on 63 for the opening wicket before Nick Robinson hit back (3-22).
All-rounder Brierley, however, held his nerve to resurrect the innings and clinch Wormelow's first title since the 1983 Hereford & District Division 3 championship success.
Earlier, Brierley was supported by Tom Herbert (3-46), Clive Price (1-14) and Ian Herbert (2-44) in restricting the underdogs to 75-6, despite 14 from Adam Hewlett and Paul Leeuwangh's 29.
Fortunately for Marden, Scott Garrett, rescued the innings with a quick-fire 41, including seven boundaries, which almost propelled the Division 3 club to a winning total.
