HEREFORDSHIRE golfer David Park finished equal 23rd after shooting 281 in the Omega European Masters tournament at Crans-sur-Sierre, Switzerland, 13 strokes behind the winner, Argentinian Ricardo Gonzalez
The Burghill Valley professional shot 69,71,70,71 to earn prize money of just under £9,000.
Park's final round of 71 would have been better but for a double bogey five on the 12th hole. He occupies 135th place in the European tour rankings with earnings totalling 100,546.29 euros.
Park's Burghill Valley club colleague Mark Wright will go through to represent them in the Golfers Trust Three Nations Championship regional finals. Wright shot a gross 78 and nett 60 in Division 2 of the September medal.

In the seniors section Trevor Waldron had plenty to celebrate after winning the Bulmers Cup Seeded Pairs Competition. Partnered by Jim Dunlop, he won the trophy for the fourth time with 47 points and also sank a hole-in-one at the third.
The Summer Pairs KO Competition title went to Jack Hewitt and Harry Thornley, beating Len Lewis and Graham Williams in the final.
In an individual stableford Cliff Evans compiled a handicap-reducing 44 points to top the list ahead of Mike Symonds 40, and John Freeman 38.
q Ross won their Open Am-Am Open against opposition from 37 other teams, representing 19 different clubs.
Ross' winning team of Andy Thomas, David Griffiths, Jeremy and Tom Walters fired a record competition score of 125 points. They finished eight points clear of their nearest rivals, another Ross team comprising club captain Geoff Baker, Robert Brian, Robert Gibbs and Tony Green. While the host club's Gwynne Morgan, James Morgan, David Kirk and Paul Rivett, 111, were third.
The best score by a visiting team came from Neath with 108, while Copt Heath's D Edwards won the nearest -the-pin-on-the-ninth prize.
q At Belmont Martin Hall, 86-20-66, carried off the Denco Cup. The minor placings went to Steve Hughes, 75-6-69, 3 Derek Hancock, 78-8-70. Top placings in the President's Bowl were 1 Stuart Thomson, 83-13-70, 2 Richard Smith, 86-15-71, 3 Dave Ankers, 89-18-71. Derek Hancock and Ken Shurmer, 71.5, led the way in the Daily Mail foursomes, followed by Kevin Smith and Wayne Gwynne 74-2, and Paul Emberton and Steve Wall, 75.
q Herefordshire GC held their September medal in aid of the Blind Association. Results were Division 1: 1 NJ Greening, 73-5-68, 2 M Preissler, 83-14-69 on the back nine from RJ Williams, 83-14-69; Division 2: 1 MJ Curtis 90-23-67, 2 R Powell 86-18-68, 3 BE Lewis 84-15-69.
q Jim Stocker, a 19-handicapper, is the new Brockington club champion after carding a gross 168 over 36 holes which gave him the Kington Motors Shield. Peter Robinson, 172, was runner-up, pipping Peter Boughey on the back nine.
Robinson, also a 19 handicapper, came out on top in the nett competition for the Heron Plate, shooting 134. John Keyte, 176-40-136, was second and Mick Avery, 182-42-140. Six-handicapper Ben Edwards was an easy winner of the Junior Championship with an excellent gross 147. Runner-up Ben Simpkin returned 164 and third-placed Chris Hunt 172.
Bad weather hampered play in the Patten Pinnacle Competition which was won by Boughey, 34 points, from Jim Mulvey, 31, and Tony Bolt, 30.

q Sapey held their Yellowball competition on Saturday with victory going to Rob Hodgkins, John Fry, Billy Harper and Keith Morton, nett 84. George Turberfield, Ray Briggs, Steve Cox and Simon Brereton, 81, were second.

Sapey were beaten 10 - 7 when they visited Burghill Valley in the Sayhill Cup.
q Hereford's Heart of Oak Inn emerged triumphant from the Herefordshire Inter Pub Challenge at South Herefordshire GG. Over 20 teams entered and Heart of Oak won by a convincing 10 strokes. Their team was Simon Jukes (captain), Julian Morris, Darren Spragg and John Driscoll.
q There was a tight finish in the battle for Leominster Seniors' Ancients Cup as Ken Vale, nett 681/4 just got the better of his closest challenger Sam Appelbee 683/4.
q David Owen, the club's vice-captain, overcame a strong field in tricky conditions to card a nett 68 and win Knighton's September medal.
