IT was full steam ahead down Memory Lane as some of the area's well loved traction engines and classic machines were paraded at Kington Vintage Show.
Record crowds turned out to admire the cavalcade of emergency service vehicles, tractors, trucks, cars and motorbikes, as it rolled through the High Street and onto the recreation ground.
Of note was a shining 1915 BSA motorbike, proudly owned by Peter Ward of Upper Colwall. He bought it 30 years ago from Gertrude and May Jones at Ye Olde Taverne, Kington.
Their brother Fred had bought it with his army gratuity in 1920. Since then it has been ridden to Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, France, Belgium and Holland - and even starred in a film with Diana Sheridan.
There was also a vintage machine many may have recognised from Herefordshire Technical College - a 1961 Foden four-wheel flat bed that came into service late in life in the county.
It was built for a brewery in West Sussex and is now owned by Brian Richards of Lyonshall.
Organisers wish to say a big thank you to Kington townsfolk for all their assistance.
