ROGER Moran won both rounds of the British Hill Climb Championship and re-set the unlimited racing car class record at Loton Park, near Shrewsbury, on Sunday.
Orleton based Moran overcame season long handling problems with his Gould-Judd GR37 and rocketed up the 1475-yard course in 46.97 seconds to capture the class record and lead the morning qualifiers.
Then Moran took an emphatic win in the first run-off stopping the clocks at 46.72. Roy Lane followed on 48.10 and Graeme Wight Jnr took third with 48.16.
And Roger made it a double with victory in the afternoon run-off, recording 47.64 seconds. Tim Mason was next with 47.81 followed by Lane on 48.09.
Graeme Wight Jnr netted fourth and sufficient points to clinch the British title leaving Moran to contest second spot over the remaining four rounds.
Scott Moran took a comfortable win in the 2000cc production sports class with 57.27 seconds.
