IT all adds up for Iain Mackay - and his English is not bad either.
The Hereford Cathedral School student has received two national prizes for scoring top marks in the country in his GCSE economics and English literature exams.
And, adding to the achievement, is the fact that Iain sat them a year early.
A bit of an academic all-rounder, Iain gained A* grades in all 11 GCSE subjects, much to the delight of head teacher Howard Tomlinson.
"This is an outstanding achievement. But Iain is not only an exceptional student academically, he is a county rugby player, a fine debater - winning the county public speaking competition last year - and contributes widely to the life of the school," Dr Tomlinson said.
