ONE of North Herefordshire's smallest places of worship has gone on the market with a guide price of just £5,000.
Prospective buyers have been flocking to view The Broad Chapel, near Leominster, even though the conversion potential of the 100-year-old brick building would appear to be very limited.
The chapel, at The Broad hamlet, consists of a single room of just 21ft by 14 ft and an entrance porch.
The small site, enclosed by iron railings allows just enough space to walk around the building.. There is no parking space.
Leominster agents Bill Jackson, who are handling the sale by informal tender, said they had been taken aback by the "tremendous amount of interest."
A spokesman said: "There have been a lot of viewings - people have been flocking to the place."
The Broad Mission Room was established by the Leominster Moravian Church in 1899. Fortnightly services were held until recently.
Leominster's recently installed new Moravian minister, the Rev Beth Torkington, said that the numbers of people attending had dwindled and, sadly, the chapel was judged to be no longer viable.
Tenders for the sale close at noon tomorrow (Friday).
