CRICKET -- Despite the fact that several matches were lost through bad weather, the club had an improved season, especially regarding batting performances, with several players passing 50. Overall team scores were, therefore, frequently higher than in recent seasons and there were several good wins and some close results. Bowling and fielding remained strong and it is anticipated that the club has now the basis of a very good team for next season, with several enthusiastic young players, when the new home ground will be used.

OPEN GARDENS -- The date for the Open Gardens for next year is still under discussion and it will not necessarily be in June, since this may be too early for many involved. Graham Simpson, co-ordinator, will keep everyone informed when the date is finalised.

LOCAL HISTORY -- The new display material can be seen in the Dovecote. This includes items discovered by the archaeology projects group in its work, such as examples of 12th century pottery and some illustrations. Plans are in hand for further exhibition material in the near future. The committee thanks all those who were involved in the recent heritage video production for their help and support, especially the 10 children who gave up a great deal of time to assist the project. Details of the first showing will be announced when the company involved has completed the editing.

RESEARCH -- A request has been made for any information about Henry Harris, son of a local baker (possibly from Leominster) in the 1850s, who married a domestic servant from Burton Court. Should anyone have any information please telephone 01544 388571 and it would be passed on.
